The Augusta American Legion is responsible for organizing Augusta's famous one-day rodeo. The Augusta American Legion Rodeo is one of Montana's oldest and has been rockin' since 1939. In 2005, it was named Montana's Tourism Event of The Year by Governor Brian Schweitzer and the Montana Tourism Advisory Council. In 1936 and 1937 the rodeo was hosted by Lou Randall, who owned the Buckhorn Bar with the help of Art and Tot Nett as well as the American Legion and Walt McManus.

The Augusta Food Share in Augusta is a local effort focused on helping community members who may be struggling to access enough food. Similar to other food share programs in Montana, it works by collecting donated or surplus food and distributing it to individuals and families in need, often through partnerships with schools, community groups or local volunteers. Programs like these play an important role in reducing hunger, supporting families and ensuring that people—especially children—have consistent access to nutritious meals.
