Mark Young Outfitters specialize in private land trophy whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope and upland birds all on the Flying Shithouse Ranch and Kenck Ranch private lands. Each year we take bucks in the 140-170 class. Included in the private hunting grounds are archery zones where no rifle is allowed in during any season, making for the perfect opportunity to take a trophy Montana whitetail or mule deer with a bow.
May through fall we guide fishermen on the Sun River with a raft or along the shores, accessing the river from our private land. Other creeks that weave through the ranch are Elk Creek and Willow reek as well as private ponds.
We also offer upland bird hunts, guided or unguided.
Our clients stay at the historic Auchard/Kenck house, built in the 1890's, which has been beautifully remodeled to expose the hand hewed logs and furnished with some of the original furniture. The house is also available to vacation rent by reservation.
The Flying Shithouse Ranch is a family-owned ranch for five generations; we take pride in our ranch and the families that have worked on it.

Come visit Sun Canyon Lodge and Outfitting for a meal, a horseback ride, a boat ride and more. At the 100 year old lodge, you can eat a heartily breakfast, lunch or dinner. The lodge doors open at 7am for breakfast and dinner is served until 8pm. If you want to keep the night going, enjoy a drink at our bar that is open late. Family owned and operated by the Carlbom’s for the last 40 years, Sun Canyon Lodge is a great place to escape for the day or longer. Stay in one of our beautiful cabins or bring your tent or camper. If you are looking for a destination place to host a family reunion or a wedding, Sun Canyon Lodge provides a beautiful getaway spot where everyone can have a good time. Trail rides take you up into the Lewis and Clark National forest and provide a beautiful view all along the Rocky Mountain Front. Take a boat ride up Gibson Reservoir that showcases the majesty of the Rockies. Enjoy gorgeous scenery on many hikes throughout the canyon.
If you are interested in a longer stay in the wilderness, Sun Canyon Outfitting has a trip for you. In the summer, weeklong trips are dedicated to experiencing the Bob Marshall Wilderness through hiking and fishing. Enjoy wonderful camping and the scenic views along the North Fork of the Sun River. In the fall, backcountry trips are dedicated to archery and rifle hunters. After your guided hunt in the day, enjoy a hot meal provided by the camp cook, a nighttime hangout by the fire, and a good nights rest tucked into our wall tents. If you prefer to hunt without a guide, we provide drop camps with many of the same luxuries as a guided hunt.
